Professional flat-plate solar panels
How SPF supersedes other flat panels?
1. This solar technology includes the patented Low E glass. This uses a special low iron glass formula which reduces the reflective properties and increases absorption.
2. The selective coated surface is not flat. It contains thousands of tiny pyramids, which increase the absorption surface area.
A word about quality
Their are some companies who are importing and selling poor-quality Chinese systems in the UK. Solar Trade Suppliers (UK) has been approached by these companies and declined there products.
A cheap option is often a false economy were longevity and performance are concerned.
Made in Europe, tested and approved
in Switzerland
Swiss research also gave clear indications of where the best and worst solar panels are made. The most effective flat panel collectors are Austria and Germany made. Tests show that the best performing collectors are more than twice as efficient as the worst.
The SPF acclaimed professional solar panel systems are Solar Keymark Accredited and EN12975-1: 2006 approved, is a LCBP listed product with our unique 'no quibble guarantee on quality' for your piece of mind.
'Glazed' versus 'unglazed' solar panels
Many people think all solar panels are the same. They are not, so it is important to make sure you are purchasing the correct system. The main difference between the two types are:
'Unglazed' solar panels are usually plastic. The heat absorbstion and retention of plastic is much much lower giving a low performing collector.
'Glazed' are prefered by all solar professionals because they absorb and retain heat much better, especially in the UK climate. A Low E glazing give even better absorbtion than standard glazing.
Installation tip: If you are uncertain of the roofing aspect of a solar installation, then some plumbers employ a local roofing company to apply the panels to the roof for them.
Skills and equipment
To undertake an evacuated tubes installation requires competant but basic knowledge of plumbing principles. If you are changing the hot water cylinder, then a Part P qualified plumber is recommended.
Hoist the panel up to the roof using correct safety equipment is relatively straight forward. A scaffolding tower up to roofline level is required for a safe working platform to work from.
The electrical set up is basic, but if you are taking an electrical spur from the bathroom area, then a Part P electrical qualification is required.
Step by step instructions included with kits
Think safety first, work alongside a qualified plumber if unsure. Full step by step instructions are
