Solar panels and energy crunch forum

I have spoken to a solar company who said you cannot get roof integrated roof panels, but I am sure I have seen a couple around my area. Are they solar panels, which I have seen, or something else?

I can confirm that yes you can have your solar panels installed within the roof (Just like a Velux window).

A lot of people choose this installation for aesthetical reasons. They are relatively easy to install and cost just slightly more than older style on top of the roof panels.

Another thing to consider when choosing your solar installation are evacuated tubes. Although they cannot be installed into the roof as described above, they do have the edge on performance and efficiency in the UK climate and winter months, but that said a superior quality glass glazed panel will work well for you.

Every rooftop in the UK is a potential collection point for solar energy.

With a bit of political will, we could make a real contribution to our energy needs and reduce dependence of fossil fuels. Not only will you get the feed-in tariff, you also benefit with the other ways of economics benefits, for example you get jobs. I except it is not the total solution, but it is a enormous viable contribution. They could make a start by requiring any newbuilds to incorporate solar panels.

The energy generated by solar panels is directed to electrical appliances or is stored in battery for future use. Solar panels are installed on the roof top of homes normally but can they be mounted on my garage roof instead.
